first Kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink and colors on silk in silk mounts, depicting
flowering red and white prunus blossom with a bird perched on an upper
branch, signed and sealed at lower right Kunihiro, with a wood tomobako
storage box inscribed Baikazu (Prunus Blossom) and signed and sealed
inside Kunihiro; three album leaves of Crane, Flowers, and Courtier, Edo
period (1615-1868), circa 1800, ink and colors on paper, depicting a crane,
flowers, and courtier, the first two with inscriptions, each signed Keiun hitsu

on her lips, signed at lower right Hogetsu and sealed Yokoo Hogetsu
With a wood storage box inscribed outside Kuchibeni (Lip rouge)

A prolific and successful artist, Yokoo Hogetsu participated in government-
sponsored exhibitions from 1926 until 1957; in mid-career he studied under
