A RARE BLUE AND WHITE DECORATED PORCELAIN TALL-
FOOTED BOWL
Joseon dynasty (1392-1897), 19th century
The deep bowl set on a flaring cylindrical foot with a recessed base,
decorated in underglaze cobalt with stylized leafy chrysanthemums
encircling the rim, the interior painted with single pear floret and the
foot painted with a narrow band, the foot ring with much kiln grit
With a wood tomobako storage box

1978, pl. 254, pg. 237
The pear-blossom crest was reserved for the exclusive use of the Yi
family of the late Joseon Imperial household. This bowl may have once
been in the collection of the Yi family.
