A FINE AND RARE WHITE PORCELAIN RETICULATED INCENSE
BURNER
Joseon dynasty (1392-1897), 19th century
The cylindrical vessel set on a splayed foot and decorated with a continuous
reticulated frieze of young bamboo leaves, the shallow cover decorated on
the top with an incised design of a chrysanthemum and applied with a loop
finial, covered in a clear glaze showing light blue where it is thicker

This incense burner bears a fine glaze with even, light blue hues, highly
prized among collectors of white porcelain. The cover is delicately incised
with a chrysanthemum and the glaze has collected in the recesses of the
design.
