So figurin like a Huckleberry I thought “Why Not?” Lets call the Gulf Waters the gulf waters.
Later I read a rather famous author who has done what I want to do and that is the entire
Green River/Colorado/ Gulf journey and in his book “River “ wrote about similar controver-
sies.
To solve it he called his starting point “my Source” and went on to call his book source to sea.
I noticed no one argued about Source to Sea when they didn’t go down the Mississippi to New
Orleans and on but took the Atchafalaya course.
’Course I was told that’s OK. That’s where the River is supposed to go….
This then is my “HeadWaters to GulfWaters.”

# It should be noted that “people on the river” don’t care as much as ‘people on the internet”.
Many self stylized ‘gurus’ have created many fiefdoms declaring themselves the all wise OZ
when it comes to all things Mississippi. No one cares. Don’t fall into that trap.
PEOPLE WHO LIVE ON THE RIVER ARE HAPPY TO SEE YOU.
Never before in my life and I am sure in this case never again did I ever see a universal fact
played out so well and so true in my life as the nature of people on the river to give and care
about people paddling down the river. Of roughly 200 people I met, all except 1 was giving
and that person recanted after I passed them by and invited me back. All were helpful and
wanted genuine success. What they “may have thought privately” was never expressed. People
on the River I can say unequivocally are what makes America Great.
