THE INTEX EXPLORER K-2 is normally considered a “bathtub boat” because it really is not
designed to go out on waters other than nice calm flatwater.

I knew the boat after spending about a year kayaking with it on reservoirs in Utah and a couple

of white water rivers. My wife and I had survived tandem paddling in this little 10ft boat.

When I had decided to take “Kayackanoe” on the Mississippi River I had already tested and
tried out many modifications to it to improve it’s durability, buoyancy, and stress’.

With over 50 modifications I felt confident of it’s visibility and ability to be used in a variety
of ways and means I might find on the river. I had no idea what I was in store for so I wanted
two kayaks that could do anything I wanted them to do.

I was so proud of this boat and it’s performance that as soon as I got back home I purchased
another one so we would always have one around the house.
