Page 98 - "Mississippi in the 1st Person" - Michael James Stone (Demo/Free)

My joy in the straight away deepness of the central part of the river was short lived.

Before I hit the bend I was down to gravel and drag…..drag…….dragging my kayaks once
again.

It was a real drag.

You do know that a “drag queen” is basically someone that looks one way, but really is another
way. I was almost ready at times to rename the Mississippi “the drag queen”.

But thinking of it as a creek made me feel better and I could deal with that.

Getting around the bend and a little further down Creek Street (my new name of this part of the
Miss), the channel let me get back in the kayaks with “some water” and I thought OH BOY I
get to paddle.

Which I did till I came to the next bend in the river………,
