By prayer let me wrestle, and he will perform; Deep in unfathomable mines
        With Christ in the vessel, I smile at the storm. Of never failing skill
        1/5 He treasures up His bright designs,
                                                                And works His sovereign will. 2/6
        Verse 2
        Though dark be my way, since he is my guide, Verse 3
        'Tis mine to obey. 'Tis His to provide; Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take.
                                                                The clouds ye so much dread
        Though cisterns be broken and creatures all fail, Are big with mercy, and shall break
        The word he has spoken shall surely prevail. In blessings on your head. 3/6

                                                                Verse 4
        Verse 3 Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
        His love in time past forbids me to think               But trust Him for His grace;
        He'll leave me at last in trouble to sink; Behind a frowning providence
                                                                He hides a smiling face. 4/6

        Verse 4 The bud may have a bitter taste,
        Why should I complain of want or distress, But sweet will be the flower. 5/6
        Temptation or pain? He told me no less;
                                                                Verse 6
        The heirs of salvation, I know from His word, Blind unbelief is sure to err, And scan His work
        Through much tribulation must follow their Lord. in vain:
        4/5 God is His own interpreter,
                                                                And He will make it plain. 6/6
        Verse 5                                                 HOME
        Since all that I meet shall work for my good, 267 I am trusting Thee, Lord
        The bitter is sweet, the medicine food; Jesus

        Though painful at present, 'twill cease before Verse 1
        long; I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, Trusting only
        And then, O how pleasant the conqueror's song!          Thee;
        5/5 Trusting Thee for full salvation,

        Verse 1                                                 At Thy feet I bow;
        God moves in a mysterious way For Thy grace and tender mercy,
        His wonders to perform; Trusting now. 2/6
        He plants His footsteps in the sea,
        And rides upon the storm. 1/6 Verse 3
                                                                I am trusting Thee for cleansing
