Not all the powers of hell can fright A soul that Some love is found. 2/5
        walks with Christ in light; He walks, and cannot
        fall:                                                   Verse 3
                                                                I thank Thee too
        Clearly he sees, and wins His way, That often joy
        Shining unto the perfect day, Is touched with pain,
        And more than conquers all. 2/4 That shadows fall on brightest hours,

        Verse 3                                                 That thorns remain,
        I rest in thine almighty power; So that earth's bliss may be our guide,
        The name of Jesus is a tower And not our chain. 3/5
        That hides my life above;
                                                                Verse 4
        Thou canst, Thou wilt my helper be; I thank Thee, Lord,
        My confidence is all in Thee, That Thou hast kept
        The faithful God of love.  3/4                          The best in store;
                                                                We have enough, yet not too much
        Verse 4
        Wherefore, in never-ceasing prayer, To long for more
        My soul to Thy continual care A yearning for a deeper peace
        I faithfully commend; Not known before. 4/5

        Assured that Thou through life shalt save, Verse 5
        And show Thyself beyond the grave My I thank Thee, Lord,
        everlasting friend. 4/4 That here our lives,
        HOME                                                    Though amply blest,
        271 My God I thank Thee Can never find, although they seek,
        Verse 1
        My God, I thank Thee, A perfect rest,
        Who hast made Nor ever shall, until we lean
        The earth so bright, On Jesu's breast. 5/5
        So full of splendour and of joy, HOME
                                                                272 O Jesus, I  have promised
        Beauty and light;                                       Verse 1
        So many glorious O Jesus, I have promised To serve Thee to the
        Things are here, end; Be Thou for ever near me,
        Noble and right. 1/5 My master and my friend :

        Verse 2 I shall not fear the battle
        I thank Thee, Lord, If Thou art by my side,
        That Thou hast made Nor wander from the pathway
        Joy to abound, If Thou wilt be my guide. 1/4
        So many gentle thoughts and deeds
                                                                Verse 2
        Circling us round,                                      O let me feel  thee near me;
        That in the darkest spot of earth                       The world is ever near;

                                                         Return
