Thou didst leave Thy throne HOME
        And Thy kingly crown, 098 We sing the praise of Him
        When Thou camest to earth for me; who died
        But in Bethlehem's home Was there found no Verse 1
        room For Thy holy nativity:
        O come to my heart, Lord Jesus; We sing the praise of Him who died, Of Him
        There is room in my heart for Thee. 1/5 who died upon the Cross :
                                                                The sinner's hope let men deride:

        Verse 2 For this we count the world but loss. 1/5
        Heaven's arches rang
        When the angels sang, Verse 2
        Proclaiming Thy royal degree; Inscribed upon the cross we see In shining
        But of lowly birth letters: God is love.
                                                                He bears our sins upon the tree :
        Cam'st Thou, Lord, on earth, And in great
        humility: He brings us mercy from above. 2/5
        O come to my heart, Lord Jesus;
                                                                Verse 3
        There is room in my heart for Thee. 2/5
                                                                The cross-it takes our guilt away;
        Verse 3                                                 It holds the tainting spirit up;
        The foxes found rest, It cheers with hope the gloomy day,
        And the birds their nest, And sweetens every- bitter cup. 3/5
        In the shade of the cedar-tree;
        But Thy couch was the sod, Verse 4
        O Thou Son of God, It makes the coward spirit brave,
        In the deserts of Galilee:                              And nerves the feeble arm for fight;
        O come to my heart, Lord Jesus; It takes its terror from the grave,
        There is room in my heart for Thee. 3/5 Verse And gilds the bed of death with light. 4/5

                                                                Verse 5
        Thou camest, O Lord,
        With the living word The balm of life, the cure of woe,
        That should set Thy people free; The measure and the pledge of love,
        But, with mocking scorn And with crown of The sinner's refuge here below,
        thorn, The angels' theme in heaven above. 5/5
        They bore Thee to Calvary: HOME
        O come to my heart, Lord Jesus; 099 Beneath The Cross Of Jesus
        Thy cross is my only plea. 4/5 Verse 1
                                                                Beneath the cross of Jesus
        Verse 5 I fain would take my stand, The shadow of a
        When heaven's arches ring, mighty Rock Within a weary land.
        And her choirs shall sing,
        At Thy coming to victory, A home within the wilderness,
        Let Thy voice call me home, A rest upon the way,
        Saying : Yet there is room, From the burning of the noontide heat
        There is room at my side for thee! And the burden of the day. 1/3
        And my heart shall rejoice, Lord Jesus,
        When Thou comest and callest for me. 5/5 Verse 2
                                                                Upon the cross of Jesus
