To praise thee, Heavenly friend,  For this Thy          O come and mourn with me awhile;
        dying sorrow, Thy pity without end?                     O come ye to the Saviour's side; O come,
        Lord, make me Thine for ever,                           together let us mourn :
        Nor let me faithless prove;                             Jesus, our Lord, is crucified.  1/7
        O let me never, never
        Abuse such dying love.  3/4                             Verse 2
                                                                Have we no tears to shed for Him,
        Verse 4                                                 While soldiers scoff and Jews deride?  Ah! look
        Be near me. Lord, when dying;                           how patiently He hangs :
        O show Thyself to me; And, for my succour               Jesus, our Lord, is crucified.  2/7

        Come, Lord, to set me free:                             Verse 3
        These eyes, new faith receiving,                        How fast His hands and feet are nailed, His
        From Jesus shall not move;                              throat with parching thirst is dried! His failing
        For who so dies believing                               eyes are dim with woe:
