Our network was built for patient care, first and foremost. When associates
use our network to stream media, it significantly impacts our overall network speed and reliability. By blocking certain non-business related media sites, we’ll be able to provide greater speed and access for patient care related programs.
Please visit ONE Channel for more information, including answers to some commonly asked questions. If you find yourself unable to complete a business- related task due to this streaming media website block, please submit an Ivanti (formerly HEAT) ticket through Connect.
HIpAA Compliance: When You & Your Family Are patients
By Karlie Myers
When you are hospitalized or receiving care at Adventist Health Castle, you have the same rights to privacy as any other patient. But Castle also has a host of federal regulations regarding security of medical records with which we must comply. In order to protect the integrity of all medical records and uphold our obligations to maintain security and confidentiality of our patients’ records, employees must NEVER use Castle privileges (username & password) to conduct personal business.
When associates access their own medical records, or that of their family members, by using their employee credentials,
it shows that the necessary HIPAA procedures that Castle has in place are not adhered to; it increases the risk of associates altering their own records; and it opens Castle up to increased scrutiny.
For our continued commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality, remember, never access your own Personal Health Information “PHI” and do not access the PHI of family members unless it’s required to perform your job.
How do I obtain medical records for myself or my children?* Sign up for the Patient Portal. It’s quick and easy! You may also request records from the Health Information Management Department.
*Please note, Hawaii State law grants certain privacy rights to minors ages 14- 17 in specific circumstances.
