 Map 2: Southern portion of North Star Road. Access to North Star is off of NM-35, as is access
 to the McKnight sites (see road videos).
There are three road videos which cover the area in Map 3, they are:
Kingston to Emory Pass;

Emory Pass to San Lorenzo; and
 Royal John Mine Road.
Access to many of these areas is provided by trails covered in “Walks in the Black Range”.
Hillsboro Peak: The most typical approach to Hillsboro Peak is along the Black Range Crest Trail from Emory Pass. This walk passes through a variety of habitats and provides
access to a number of collecting sites including Hillsboro Lake (which is a puddle - sometimes). Among the people who have collected along this route are; Eugene M. Jercinovic (2009-2010), Robert C. Sivinski (1993-2018), O. B. Metcalfe (1901-1905), Kenneth D. Heil (1998-2012), Russ Kleinman (2009-2018), and K. Blisard (2011-2018).
Railroad Canyon: Railroad Canyon is one of the most popular areas in the Black Range. The walk from the campground to the first fork is properly called the Gallinas Trail. At the fork, the Gallinas trail turns west and then northwest. The trail up Railroad Canyon continues to another fork, straight north to Holden Prong Saddle. The
