Therefore, we continue to test the possibility of imports so that the country has additional tools to support the energy system,” said the GM of the company, Vitaliy Butenko.
The EU will provide equipment and €1.5B monthly to repair Ukraine’s energy system. The EU will send €1.5B to Ukraine every month to restore the energy infrastructure destroyed by Russian attacks, said European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. In addition to money, energy companies will also provide the necessary specific machinery and equipment to replace damaged elements. To support the restoration of Ukraine's damaged energy infrastructure, European partners, together with the Energy Community, created the Energy Support Fund, which makes it possible to involve all European countries in assistance. As a result, the first transformers to replace damaged ones are already on their way to Ukraine.
The US and Ukraine will develop a small, modular nuclear reactor. The project aims to promote decarbonization of energy sectors through the production of clean hydrogen and improve long-term food security through the production of clean ammonia fertilizers. Partners in the pilot project include an international consortium made up the US Argonne National Laboratory, Ukraine’s nuclear operator Energoatom, the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, and State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, as well as a number of private companies.
Kherson’s energy infrastructure was completely destroyed by the retreating occupiers. A representative of the power company DTEK said the restoration of energy infrastructure facilities in Kyiv Oblast after its liberation from Russian occupation in spring took about 30 days. Approximately the same time would be needed to repair the energy facilities in the liberated part of Kherson Oblast, he added. The Russians engaged in wide-spread destruction and looting as they withdrew – stealing not only over 15,000 works of art from museums in the area, but also a raccoon from the Kherson zoo.

Ukraine, the US, Japan, and Korea are launching a joint project in the field of carbon-free energy. Ukraine, in partnership with the USA, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, will participate in a public-private consortium for scientific and practical developments for small modular reactors, Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko said. The minister explained that the project aims to assess the technical capability, economic competitiveness, and the possibility of producing and using hydrogen and ammonia on an industrial scale using small modular reactors for clean, carbon-free energy. For this purpose, it is planned to create a pilot plant and conduct a corresponding technical and economic analysis of its operation. The project implementation term is approximately 2-3 years.
Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany positively assess the possibility of launching a joint hydrogen corridor. Operators of gas transportation systems in Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany have completed a preliminary feasibility study for repurposing gas pipes for hydrogen transportation. The study demonstrated that it is technically
