Fitch also focused on distortions from Turkmenistan’s exchange rate regime, commenting: “FX policy is opaque, and there is a very large differential between the official exchange rate, fixed at TMT3.5 per $ since 2015, and the parallel market rate, which has been fairly stable at near TMT19 per $ over the last year.”
