                 ABSTRACT

                 BACKGROUND
Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among all cancers of women. Factors

and interviewed using constructed questionnaire which adapted from Ministry of Public

Health format. The study was operated since 2014 August to 2015 October. The skills of

The knowledge of breast self-examination (BSE), most people in sample group, they can
answers questions in correctly. Researchers found that, the most corrected answers was the

question “women should do BSE once a month” (82.67%) and 34.95% of subjects did BSE
                  with all 8 steps.
                 CONCLUSION AND DISCUSSION

The most women in Chiang Rai province answered the question about breast self-

examination correctly, but they also need to learn more of BSE skills. So the ministry of public
health and other groups with responsibility on this, should develop teaching system and
techniques of breast self-examination to women in risk group, and evaluate knowledge and

practice regular BSE. Breast self-examination help detect breast cancer earlier.
