KARISSA J KUMPAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Presented by friends of the Kumpan Family
In memory of Karissa J. Kumpan, her family and friends would like to honor an outstanding member of the Eastchester High School athletic Community.
Prior to her untimely death in February 2010, Karissa was a student at the Eastchester Schools. She graduated from EHS in 2005 and was an active member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team and an accomplished gymnast.
Karissa was an avid athlete. She was an exceptional young woman who left an indelible imprint on everyone she met. Karissa had a special place in her heart for female athletes who, she felt, did not receive sufficient recognition for their outstanding performances in sports.
Karissa was a kind and gentle person who was always smiling, laughing and loving life to its fullest. Her passion for life and compassion to others will motivate us all.
In recognition of her special qualities, The Karissa J. Kumpan Memorial Scholarship will be presented, in her honor, to the person who best captures the essence of Karissa and the beautiful and caring person she was. She exemplified dedication, concern for others, enthusiasm and a positive work ethic.
