What is Life?
I’m all alone, on a cold dark night. Nothing around me but my books. The only source of illumination, a single flickering candle upon the windowsill. There are plenty of good books, but I do not read. Instead I gaze out the window, waiting. For is that not life: waiting until the waiting eventually kills you. But if you can’t die, then what is life?
