Snow Canyon’s stunning red sandstone, capped by an overlay of black lava rock, green foliage, and stark white cliffs, make photography, hiking, and camping a delight. Several hiking trails wind through sand dunes, ponds, and lava caves. Conveniently located just seven miles north of St. George, via Hwy 18 to Snow Canyon Road—or south entrance via Hwy 91 through Santa Clara and Ivins—the Park is open year-round. Activities include camping, hiking, biking, roller blading, and playing in the red sand dunes. Park fee required for camping. Open year-round 6am to 10pm.

In scenic red rock country lies Gunlock Reservoir where boating, water sports, and quality fishing for bass and catfish attract visitors. The reservoir is rimmed with ponderosa pine and trails leading to alpine meadows and pine forests. A mild winter climate makes Gunlock State Park a year- round destination.
The park is available year-round from 7am to 8pm with no holiday closures. Park fees required.
Gunlock State Park is located 15 miles northwest of St. George via Highway 91, past Santa Clara and Shivwits.

Only 11 miles northeast of St. George, Quail Creek State Park boasts some of the warmest waters in the state and a mild winter climate. The park provides excellent year-round camping, picnicking, boating, and trout and bass fishing in sunny southwest Utah.
Quail Creek Reservoir lures boaters and anglers year-round. Spend a day on the water or visit
a nearby state or national park, then retire to a campsite in a spectacular red rock desert setting. Facilities include 23 campsites, modern restrooms, fish cleaning station, and two covered group-use pavilions. Park Hours: Year-round 7am to 9pm. Park fees required.
