12.  The Snake CHARMER

 Description: The Snake charmer is entertaining the Sheikh, and his wives in a very rich
 Andalucian style decorated living room, with the lady musician playing the mandolin.
 An extremely beautiful and rare oil on canvas of Simonetti, in which he depicts with
 high quality every single detail of the persons, the objects and the scene.

 Biography
 Simonetti was a painter of Orientalist scenes, active in Rome during the second half of
 the 19th Century. His uncle was Amadeo (Momo) Simonetti. He painted with watercolours
 and very rare oils on canvas. He participates in expositions between 1882-1899, and
 notably in the Expo of 1900. He had a strong interest in painting delicate pieces such as
 exotic tapestries.
