Community Urology Committee Report
Lorne Aaron
Chair, Community Urology Committee
Longueuil, QC
he CUC has been working hard to ensure that community urology interests continue to be heard. The CUA has created
Ta Community Urology Newsletter that will be electronically sent out on a quarterly basis. I would like to encourage
all community urologists to consider contributing to this newsletter. It should be an excellent forum that will allow us to
exchange ideas and plan for the future of community urology in Canada. Please forward any ideas, essays, comments,
etc. to nadia.pace@cua.org.
The preliminary mentorship program for community urologists has been developed by the CUC and will be discussed and
approved by the CUC. This will allow community urologists to maintain competence in certain areas or gain new expertise.
The nomination committee and nomination process were reviewed by Officers of CUA and were presented at the Winter
Board Meeting in Montreal in January 2020. A decision was made not to make any major changes. The CUC realizes
that the nomination process for positions at the CUA is not ideal, but has not been able to come up with an acceptable
alternative. You can find the information regarding the nominating committee on the CUA website in the section “About
CUA-policy book.” I ask anybody who wants to provide input or suggest alternative, acceptable options regarding possible
changes to the process to please contact me at lorne.aaron@gmail.com or the Chair of the nominating committee at
fredsaad@videotron.ca. There is always the possibility of making changes in the future.
