College celebrated 2 graduation day on 12/03/2024.On this occasion our Geology

students received 5 gold medals (4 UG+ 1 PG).

Field Trip
Location: Western Ghats (KIOCL), Saint Mary’s Island and Huspet Iron ore
Dates: 13/03/2024 to 16/03/2024

40 students and 5 faculty members were participated in this field work students visited
KIOCL iron ore mine and after visited to saint Mary's island for looking columnar joints.
After that visited late rite and bauxite deposits and evaporation deposits (salt formation),
after that visited to OM beach in Gokarna, this om shape beach formed due to erosional
and depositional processed here. Students observed pegmatite vein deposits, laterite
deposits and folds. After students visited Hampi, here they observed onion spheroidal
weathering and granite boulders and vein structures, after that observed monolithic

Ratham and sounding pillars (which are made up of granite rock) and finally they visited

to iron ore mine and ore beneficiation process in Huspet and Tungabhadra Dam.
