- YBM MITI sees that Qatar is significant market to
Malaysia where the Qatari economy is one of the
largest in Middle East.

- Qatari businessmen also look forward to food
processing and medical tourism opportunity in
Malaysia.

 Conclusion

- The interests shown during the mission reflects strong
interest from the Qatari business community to know
more about Malaysia in terms of the economy, trade
and investment potentials.

- The programmes provided a good platform for the
business communities from both countries to be
connected with Malaysian Senior Government
Officials.

- The programme has increased the awareness on
opportunities in Malaysia and encouraged the
companies to capitalise on the growing market of
ASEAN by using Malaysia as their platform.

- In a separate meeting between YAB Deputy Prime
Minister and Emir of Qatar, the Emir showed
commitment to increase Qatari investments in
Malaysia, not only in real estate but in manufacturing
and services sectors.

- Following the YAB DPM visit to Qatar, there will be a
reciprocal visit by the Emir of Qatar to Malaysia on 5 –
7 December 2018.
