IPTP, TASKFORCE
GCTP initiates the IPTP COVID 19 Taskforce
GCTP invited IPTP members to join the COVID-19 taskforce
A.ALJARWAN 2nd of April 2020
Letter to IPTP members:
We would like to extend to you my warmest, sincere sympathy and heartfelt solidarity. These are odd challenging times for humankind, and it urge us to call for extraordinary measures and use of our expertise and networks, to support each of our fellow citizens in the daily struggle with the most colossal enemy of our societies.
Therefore, your Excellency, we have come to the decision of initiating a Task Force to fight the spread of COVID-19 within the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), and to join our forces to contribute with acts on the fields of spreading awareness on the Coronavirus. We truly and strongly believe that the IPTP has a vital role to play no and demonstrate our pioneer leadership as an organization.
Members of the Task Force are expected to work closely with each other, and their national community, governmental and non-governmental sectors to propose and develop, creative and nationally applicable ideas to fight the virus. They would have the chance to inform each other about the real image of the current situation in their own country related to the virus and represent the IPTP and GCTP in their own country in any issue related to the pandemic by implementing the proposed initiatives and reporting back. The decisions and initiatives should be implemented within the framework and guidelines of the GCTP, and the developed awareness materials should also be distributed in their own country by different means. The overall goal of the Task Force would be to develop creative, innovative and applicable initiatives that will significantly contribute to prevent the infection, to understand how the virus works and the symptoms, and the know-hows of dealing with the infection for faster recovery, the infected people, and the healthcare providers.
We would highly appreciate if your Excellency could confirm your willingness to serve as a member of this humanitarian, vital and international taskforce. Once the memberships have been concluded, a deliberation will take place to decide on the actions that can be taken in each respective country and around the world.
