A.ALJARWAN, 15th of April 2020
Letter to the Speakers of Parliaments:
I would like to extend to you my deepest sympathy, and sincere solidarity in this difficult time and to offer my respect and recognition to your new frontline fighters putting themselves at risk on the front lines of the pandemic. I would like also to share with you my sincere and deepest condolences to the family members of those patients who lost their life while fighting to survive and those medics who sacrificed their lives at work trying to save the others. The GCTP is currently offering its services to support all taken measures that may prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and to be a partner in world’s relief. Therefore, the GCTP has established a task force to fight the spread of COVID-19 within the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP).
The task force will support the implementation of the recommended measures and guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) at the national level and will execute new, creative and innovative projects that target the vulnerable and meet the world’s needs. Furthermore, the task force will run an awareness campaign under the theme “United, we conquer COVID-19”, targeting the new frontline fighters, all family members and the community. We highly recognize your important role as a national parliament, and all the responsibilities that you have. Therefore, as a sincere act of solidarity from the GCTP, we have the intent to offer a gift to either a hospital, an orphanage, or a nursing home that you select based on your urgent needs. The gift is about 10,000 surgical masks or equivalent, and it will be done through your representative in the IPTP. And, we look forward to your cooperation in facilitating the work of our Coronavirus task force to reach your national community, governmental and non-governmental entities.
GCTP offered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as a gesture of solidarity, to its country members who already replied back to the official support letter.
Those countries are Albania, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Honduras, Ecuador, El Salvador, Montenegro, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Northern Macedonia, and Colombia.
In addition to these countries, the GCTP offered PPE to the 57357 Hospital in Egypt, Al Hanan Hospital, the Governmental Hospital in Lebanon, and the Credo Foundation in El Salvador.
LETTERS OF SUPPORT TO GCTP, REGARDING THE DONATION IN SUPPORT TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Letter from H.E. Francisco de la Torre,
Mayor of Malaga, Spain
April 2020,
I am contacting you, with the desire to thank you, on behalf of the city of Malaga, its City Council and myself, for your kind letter in which you invite the citizens of Malaga to take an active part in the changes
that we must face when we manage to overcome
the health crisis caused by Covid-19. I think
your reflections on the need to remain united
and redouble efforts in the fight against this
common enemy seem very accurate.
Unfortunately, the pandemic we are facing has
devastating consequences on health and the
world economy, but also this unprecedented
situation is allowing the best of ourselves to
emerge, so I am convinced that we will emerge
stronger in many aspects. Without a doubt, these
days of confinement invite deep reflection, to be
aware of our own vulnerability and to realize the
impact that human beings have on pollution on
our planet. Along with this, our solidarity is
being demonstrated with facts, with a
magnificent response from companies and
individuals, who are donating the necessary
material to protect our health sector and the
security forces and are reaching out to help our
elders.
Likewise, this challenging experience makes us greatly value the solid structure of the health system and the services provided to society by people who work in the field of health and in other sectors of vital importance. Also, from a professional perspective, it offers an opportunity to improve our productivity, and adapt to more flexible ways of working, based on the use of new technologies. In short, I am sure that we will all learn very valuable lessons that will accompany us for the rest of our lives. For this reason, I would like to reiterate my deep gratitude for conveying to me you’re a brotherly message of peace and humanitarian solidarity, which is so convenient in these difficult times. With my highest consideration and respect I share you the wish that together we can build a better future for all.
