“We can’t just leave the poor thing under that bush.”
Bea wrinkled her forehead. “Maybe there’s a way to coax it out.” She glanced at Rosie, who was sniffing the shopping bag with her treats inside. “I know! All we need is something that rabbits love
to eat.”
Racing back into the corner shop, she hurried to the vegetable aisle. There were rows of ripe red tomatoes and deep-purple aubergines, and there were peppers in red, green and yellow. Bea stared at the huge array of vegetables. She knew rabbits liked leafy greens the best so she gathered up some kale and broccoli.
“It’s good to see you girls eating healthy things as well as all those sweets,” said Mrs Rinberg approvingly.
