Read the example paragraph below and underline the simile.
Sometimes I don’t like my job at all. I work like a bee in
the reception desk in this hospital… up to 10 hours a day!!! But
people don’t have to be rude to me!!! Take a look at the man
who came to see the doctor the other day. This man came in
the morning… as tall as a tree… and pale… he looked like a
ghost!!! He seemed sick and nervous. He was tapping his
fingers on the desk like he was playing a drum and he was
making me nervous too. I asked him politely to stop, he gave
me a look as cold as ice and said “Mind your own business!!”
That such a rude thing to say!! One of these days I’m going to
quit this job and fly away like a bird!!
C. PERSONIFICATION
Personification is when you assign the qualities of a person to
something that isn’t human or, in some cases, to something that isn’t
alive.
