On another note it is so interesting to read about
and contemplate anew the story of the Great Flood.
There is always something new each time you read
your way through it. And there are so many things on
earth that testify to this enormous event having taken
place. I will never forget living in Kansas out in the
middle of nowhere with not any water around for
miles were massive rocks with shark’s teeth
embedded in them. A shark hadn’t swam by Kansas
since the waters subsided from the Great Flood.
But also this story is an example of how things would
be in our world before Jesus comes. Noah was an
amazing man of faith. I could never compare myself to
that patriarch, but there is one aspect I seem to be able
to relate to in a small way. He worked on that ark for
years and years and finally it was completed. But the
rain did not immediately come. It must have been a
time of test for his faith. But all of a sudden animals
started coming 2 by 2 and 7 by 7 from all directions to fill the ark. It must have been quite a sign
for Noah that boosted his faith.
In a small way I say I try to relate to that. You know my study of Revelation chapter 17 tells me
that we are living in the time of the last pope. Yet nothing seems to be happening quickly to see
that fulfillment. Yes, he is on the move traveling to different countries and this very week in
Egypt meeting with Moslem leaders and others. And some of his statements certainly seem to
be laying the ground work for pushing the idea of Sunday worship for everyone. And I am sure
there are other things behind the scenes that are going on. But life is going on as usual just like
it must have for Noah; until the animals came!
I surmise thoughts like this. Perhaps the time we
are in now is a time just like before the animals did
come to the ark. And what are we waiting for?
