Delegation

A Front Line Leader has the responsibility to delegate tasks and develop employees through appropriate empowerment. Done well, delegating makes a significant difference to the employees’ motivation and the team’s productivity.
Describe clear expectations of the project or task.
Explain the purpose of the task.
Let the employee ask questions.
Explain the resources available and the outcomes expected. Get the employee’s suggestions for completing the task. Address the employee’s suggestions, questions, and concerns. Take time to check in on the employee’s progress.
Empower the employee to make decisions with your support.
Delegate with Purpose
Describe the task or project in a way that is inspiring, that compels the person to want to excel. Include the ‘why’ of the job. Why is this task important to customer success? Do not under-estimate the motivational power of a compelling purpose.
.....What are you responsible for and why is it important? In other words, what is the purpose to your work? Describe it in a way that is inspiring.
