Gilbert is NOT a fashion model.
Gilbert is a friend of many people, most especially
This is rugby players, who will instantly recognize him.
Yes, Gilbert is actually a retired rugby ball. So?
                                          Gilbert
His playing days are over, I couldn’t just cast him
away, so I gave him a cap and now he lives happily,
                                                         though mostly, on my couch.

We’re rugby buddies. It might seem strange to you,
but Gilbert is not the first – remember Wilson, the
abandoned soccer ball that got washed up on a
remote beach somewhere in the Pacific and
                                                         befriended a stranded human? Well, that’s Gilbert’s
long-lost cousin. I’m certain there are others like
Gilbert and Wilson around the world

Gilbert has become a mascot for Rugby Belize – the organization that I started up in 2014, when
I discovered that the noble sport of Rugby wasn’t being played in Belize. Considering the
relative young median age of the population in Belize, and the lack of organized sport, I thought
that was odd and went about setting up teams around the country (more about that later). So,
               that’s Gilbert.
