The Tinker Queen
Bernadette Williamson
The beating of the heart is vigorous but unheard.
Was anyone listening, did anyone care?
Where is the light that shines to show the Queen?
The field is the haystack, she feels like the peen.
She lays looking over Loch Fyne, wondering and waiting.
Her surroundings are enchanting, peaceful as a painting.
Her soul is deep, many stories to tell.
All that history she knows too well.
Her memories calling, remembering the forgotten.
She lays there, her thoughts linger.
“Does anyone remember me, the heart of the tinker?”
