Th is project was a 540,000 SF expansion of the UF Health Shands • Eight-level, 212,000-SF parking garage to
Cardiovascular and Neuroscience Hospital. Th e nine-story expansion accommodate up to 700 cars was built on site.

• (16) new operating room suites,
• Radiology equipment rooms,
• Support space for materials management and a loading dock area.

Th e new operating rooms include: fi ve Hybrid OR’s, two CT’s, two
MRI’s, an iMRI, Cath Lab Bi and Single Planes, EP Bi and Single
Planes, General Radiology, Fluoro and Ultrasound. Th e facility provides
a cafeteria, chapel and waiting rooms for patients, staff and guests.

Th e expansion project is located adjacent to the UF Health Cancer Hospital
and is connected to that building via a bridge. In addition, the expansion
is connected to the existing Cancer Hospital via an underground walkway,
2nd fl oor OR area and an outdoor area on the 3rd fl oor at which visitors
and patients from both facilities can enjoy dining outside.
