P. 23
Camron Davies
Upon admittance into medical training and reaffirmed upon ascension into medical practice I do solemnly swear (affirm) to uphold the principles and spirit of this covenant:
I will put the patient's welfare before my own and any others interests.
I will hold sacred the information revealed to me in confidence.
I will, in practice, first aim to do no harm to those who seek my aid.
I will not unduly profit from the cure and prevention of disease.
I will not practice outside of the scope of my training.
I will recognize that medicine relies on the efforts and expertise of many, and many shall share recognition in our accomplishments
I will continue to respect and further the scientific foundation upon which medicine has developed.
I will consistently strive to further my skills as a clinician through continuous training and acquisition of knowledge.
I will give back to the medical community which has given me mentorship and training.
I will strive to live a moral and virtuous life knowing that through this pursuit I will better serve my patients and be a pillar in the community.
These things I swear, and may I always act by the finest traditions of my profession and serve as an exemplar of a physician.
