 Michelle Deville
I pledge to work in the best interest of my patient and to ensure that my patient’s well-being is the utmost priority
I will respect human life
I will not divulge secrets told to me by patients, as they will not harm others
I will strive to treat others with the utmost respect and, at the same time, stand up for those who are being actively mistreated
I will not only respect others regardless of socioeconomic status, gender, race, ethnicity, origin, sexual orientation, or religion but actively work to ensure these factors are not barriers to equal treatment, access to healthcare, or differential outcomes
I will be a life-long learner that will strive to keep up with the latest medical knowledge so as to ensure my patients have the best outcomes
I will never cease to question things and to remain open to possibilities in my pursuit of scientific knowledge
I will teach those around me in the areas in which I excel and also be receptive to others teaching me in their areas of expertise
I will strive to be humble and always willing to learn from others, being open to different perspectives from my own
I will strive to pass the knowledge bestowed upon me to the next generation of physicians
I will take care of myself, so that I am better able to help those around me and better serve my patients
I will value my time to myself, so that I am able to have a life that is balanced between personal and work I will strive to leave the world a better place than when I came into it
These promises are of my own volition and I will strive to live my life according to them
