 Julieta Gonzalez Alvarez
I will let the principles of this oath to guide my steps in the medical profession as a physician, as long as they are an expression of justice and respect to my patients and their families.
I will embrace medicine as both art and science that serves humanity above all things, and I will always advocate for life and health.
I will help and serve my patients and others without discriminating based on age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religious or political views, social standing or any other factor that could adversely interfere between the patient and the medicine I will provide.
I will respect my patients’ autonomy about their health, their religious beliefs, their opinions; and I will dignify and honor their lives to the best of my professional abilities.
I promise always to honor the patient-physician confidentiality agreement and never betray my patients’ trust.
I will use my knowledge to provide care and help those who are sick, and I will share my knowledge to educate others.
I will never use my abilities and medical knowledge to harm, endanger or cause any unnecessary pain to my patients or others. I will not deny care to those who need it and want it as long as I can provide it.
I will dedicate my work to prevent diseases since I believe prevention is more powerful than cure, and I will educate my patient about prevention to help them to live a healthy life.
I will not let pride or overconfidence to cloud my judgment and risk my patients’ well-being; instead, I will ask for help and other professional opinions whenever I need it.
I will practice my profession with respect, dignifying and honoring it, and recognizing its limitations and the limitations of my own practice.
This is my personal oath, and I take it freely to the best of my judgment and capabilities.
