AS A MEMBER OF THE MEDICAL PROFESSION:
I solemnly pledge to dedicate my life to serving my local and global community;
The physical along with the mental and emotional well-being of my patient will be my first consideration; I will respect the autonomy and dignity of my patient to direct their care;
I will maintain that all should be treated equal regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, or identity;
I will keep private what has been confided in me, even after the patient has died;
I will respect the medical profession by maintaining integrity and a code of conduct;
I will treat my teachers, colleagues, and students with the respect and gratitude that they deserve;
I will share my medical knowledge for the benefit of the patient and the advancement of healthcare;
I will take time to attend to my own health and well-being with the mindset that it will allow me to provide high quality patient care;
I will not use my medical knowledge to endorse or promote a treatment that causes harm to patients;
I make these promises solemnly, freely, and upon my honor.
