Alexander Mihas
As I become a member of the medical profession:
I promise to always remember that the purpose of all my actions are to promote the well-being of my patients and those around me.
I will hold myself to the highest of standards, and ensure that my colleagues are also held to these standards.
I will do anything in my power to provide my patients with therapeutic benefit, but I must also be aware of my own limitations and take action to promote and preserve my own self-care.
I will always admit when a situation exceeds my medical knowledge and skill, and that I will focus on finding a colleague who is appropriately equipped to handle such situations.
I will refrain from providing futile medical care, as well as care that may bring more harm to my patients than benefit.
I will respect my patients’ privacy, and empower them as autonomous agents.
Lastly, I promise to be politically involved to serve as an advocate for social justice for all patients.
