 Maverick Mangosing
As a member of both society and the medical profession,
I sincerely pledge to live my life to serve others in need.
I will treat my patients as though I am treating my own family, as I would yearn for the very best care for my loved ones.
I will never view the sick as simply a disease or illness, but rather a human being who has their own life to live, their own family to love, and their own dreams to conquer.
If I ever am to make a mistake or cause unnecessary harm to my patient, I will always give my utmost honesty and put in the necessary effort in righting my wrongs.
I will maintain a love for learning; I will forever be a student of the art and science of medicine, so that I am never to grow complacent of my knowledge and skills.
I will educate my patients thoroughly and give them the ability to be active in their own healthcare decisions.
No matter how terrible my day is, I will always display a positive demeanor to my patients, so they too can be optimistic and hopeful for a speedy recovery.
I will honor my mentors by becoming a mentor myself; I will share the knowledge I have been given with my colleagues and students for the betterment of patient care.
I will never opt out of providing my services based on race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, political views, or any other factor.
I will maintain my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being; I will care for my own self so that I can effectively care for others.
I make these promises to keep myself accountable, and to always be reminded to strive for greatness.
