Monica Muñoz
Through this oath I affirm that:
I will practice medicine with dignity and humility. Knowing my limitations and honoring every life that will be on my hands.
I will strive to be the best version of myself I can be, upholding the best of human values and morals.
I will look at a patient’s disease with a holistic view, striving to watch out for the many other social factors that can affect a population or a family unit.
I will be understanding and sympathetic to anyone who comes to me, knowing that human contact can be as effective as some prescriptions or procedures.
I will focus on preventing rather than treating whenever possible.
I will practice with eyes that will focus on healing rather than religion, race, nationality or any other factor.
I will not let monetary recompense cloud my judgement or my actions during my practice
I will respect those physicians who have passed down their knowledge to my generation and will share what I have learned with those who come after me.
I will respect my patient’s desires and will keep the secrets trusted on me.
Above all, I will be aware of the responsibility that the profession entitles. Knowing the power I have and the knowledge I have acquire and knowing I must always use it to heal rather than to cause any harm. May I always strive to keep this pledge to the best of my ability.
