By God who I hold most sacred, I solemnly swear:
That I will see and treat patients as human beings, remembering that they are not defined by their medical condition but that rather they are emotional and spiritual beings, receptive to their behavior and environment;
That I will recognize that empathy, compassion, care, and understanding may be as powerful as the science of medicine;
That I will remember that my practicing medicine is an immense privilege and honor, where patients come during their most vulnerable moments and that I have the responsibility to attend to their individual needs;
That I will consecrate my life to the betterment of humanity through medicine;
That I will never act to harm patients but that I will preserve whatever they hold most sacred in conservation of their health and integrity;
That I will maintain honesty with my patients by revealing truth and never concealing pertinent information with respect to their diagnosis, treatment and care;
That I will be transparent, offering informed knowledge so that the finest outcomes can be received by each unique patient;
That I will actively listen to patients, allowing them to receive healing from the moment attention is offered, demonstrating care and regarding each patient as a unique human being;
That I will safeguard patients’ privacy and act to protect patient confidentiality;
That I will recognize my limitations and remain humble, never allowing egotism or risk to obscure my judgement of preserving primacy of patient welfare;
That I will not be my own barrier for achievement of personal highest success and that I will remain confident of my abilities to optimally serve humans and act for this purpose;
That I will continuously improve my techniques and seek to innovate for better outcomes, combining my expertise to challenge myself and elevate knowledge;
That I will practice medicine with conscience and dignity, remembering the sacredness of human life;
I swear to abide by this oath throughout my entire journey as a physician, and may I always act as to preserve my calling while receiving peace in mind, heart, and spirit for conferring boundless care and healing in the process.
