I promise to uphold the following to the best of my ability in every aspect of my life:
I will balance the science and art of medicine. Scientific evidence will guide medical decisions and I vow to share my knowledge with those who want to learn. Yet, human touch and meaningful connections remain at the core of every interaction. Empathy, warmth and understanding for the human condition is key for fostering individualized care.
I will never fail to remain open, honest and trustworthy with patients. Patients deserve to be treated with the utmost humanity.
I will remember that I am always treating not simply a disease, but a person. For this reason, I will treat the mind, body and soul of the whole person.
I will recognize my privilege in caring for others and never take lightly the matters of life and death. With that, I will not be afraid to admit when I need help if the patient requires more than my best.
Above all, I will put the wishes of my patients first and never impose my own bias or judgement. No malice will impact my actions, not avarice, greed or pride.
I represent not only myself and my profession, but the entirety of the healthcare field. May
