expected to continue to develop economic forecasts and revenue estimates as circumstances change
and additional information becomes available. It is possible that actual results will vary, and perhaps
vary widely, from the amounts described in this paragraph. The negative impact on the State’s
revenues could result in reduced General State Aid to fund District operations.
The District was fully compliant with the remote learning directive issued by the Illinois State
Board of Education while its facilities were closed. The District has been allocated $875,878 in
COVID-19 federal relief funding. The District has received $222,959 in COVID-19 federal relief
funding to date. The District expects to receive additional funds in the amount of $2,989,305 pursuant
to the Supplemental CARES Act. Any impact from COVID-19 to State funding related to operations
in fiscal year 2021 is currently not known.
The District’s instruction model:
From the March 16 – May 29, 2020, the District engaged the students using the remote option.
From the August 17 – January 15, 2021 the District engaged the students using the remote option.
One January 19, 2021 – The District began the hybrid model with approximately 250 students
attending school in person.
REMOTE LEARNING PLANS
Remote Learning-
In the Remote Learning model, all students will engage in instruction 100% remotely.
Hybrid Learning Plan-
The district will implement the Hybrid Learning Plan after the first two weeks of student orientation.
HYBRID LEARNING PLAN
In the Hybrid model, students will engage in synchronous instruction both in-person and remotely. This model
will serve 100% of the student body with approximately 50% of students attending school while 50% of the students
will engage in instruction remotely. Students will participate in in-person instruction according to an alternating A
Day/B Day schedule. Some groups of students will be identified for priority in-person instruction and will attend
school every day.
It is strongly encouraged that students who have been identified for priority in-person instruction attend school
every day in order to maximize their learning. Families will still have the option to opt out of in-person instruction, if
their student or the student’s family member has compromised health. In this case, students will only engage in
instruction remotely.
During the week when they attend school, they will follow their flex schedule in person. During the week when
they are learning remotely, they will follow their flex schedule at home. If they are not able to follow their class
schedule, the student will still be responsible for completing the work missed during class.
The District will follow the Center for Disease Control’s guidelines for in-person instruction: 15 students per class
and 50 students per large group space.
If the student is not able to participate in class while they are on campus due to a class cap, he or she will go to
another designated space on campus to join the class remotely.
Students dually enrolled in Prairie State College will follow the A Day/B Day schedule and complete their
coursework at their high school campus. Prairie State College will provide further guidance when it becomes
available.
