We have been working in an
elementary school called Virgen del
Carmen, located 30 minutes outside of
Cusco city in an indigenous community
called Occopata. In order to travel to
the school, it’s a bit more than just
taking a taxi or a bus - it requires taking
a taxi to Huancaro and then a
“collectivo,” which is essentially a group
taxi, up to Occopata. However, our
transportation is provided to Occopata
by car twice a week.
