Corrugation
A form of plastic movement typified by ripples
across the pavement surface with
wavelengths of less than 2m.
Usually occurs at points where traffic starts and
stops.
Causes
An unstable (i.e. low stiffness) HMA layer
(caused by mix contamination, poor mix
design, poor HMA manufacturing)
Excessive moisture in the subgrade
Cures
Remove the distorted pavement and
patch @ overlay
