                                                                 Corrugation





              A form of plastic movement typified by ripples
               across the pavement surface with
               wavelengths of less than 2m.

              Usually occurs at points where traffic starts and
               stops.
              Causes
                   An unstable (i.e. low stiffness) HMA layer
                    (caused by mix contamination, poor mix
                    design, poor HMA manufacturing)

                   Excessive moisture in the subgrade

              Cures
                   Remove the distorted pavement and
                    patch @ overlay
