ORDINATION
OF AN
ELDER OR DEACON

(Work of Presbytery)

The churches of the Burning Springs Association
conduct Ordination service of a brother as an Elder
or as a Deacon as follows:

1 : Organize by choosing a Moderator and a Clerk;

2 : Select one to question the candidate;

3 : Select one to make prayer;

4 : Select one to give charge;
th
5 : Call for candidate from spokesman from church;
th
6 : Examine candidate. Any member of the Presbytery
has the right to ask questions if desired;
th
7 : If candidate is found satisfactory, proceed with prayer
and the laying of hands;
th
8 : Deliver the charge;
th
9 : Read and approve the Minutes of proceedings;
th
10 : Return candidate to church as an Elder or as a Deacon;
th
11 : Dismiss Presbytery.
