Ms Grace Fu
Minister for Sustainability and the Environment
Every generation of Singaporeans must see ourselves as
stewards of our nation. We build on our past achievements,
strive to overcome our limitations, and pioneer solutions to
ensure that Singapore remains a green and liveable home.
We have launched the Singapore Green Plan 2030, to catalyse bold, balanced and collective
action. This is a whole-of-nation effort, which requires individuals, businesses, research
institutions, community groups, civil society organisations, and the Government working
in unison.
The ‘Shaping A Sustainable Future’ pilot project by NYAA and HSBC Singapore enables our
youths to partner small and medium-sized enterprises to co-create climate solutions. This
ground-up initiative is a good example of how new partnerships can uncover innovative
ideas to tackle climate change.
Sustainability is not a one-off programme. It is about engineering a whole system and
cultivating a new way of life. I commend NYAA and HSBC on their initiative, and look
forward to many more such efforts which will help realise the Green Plan, and build a
sustainable future.
