Baking
Neela Gannon, School of the Future
Not much to say today, everything is pretty much the same with the
exception of my mother who is feeling much better.
Yesterday, I baked the most delicious ginger cookies ever. In the oven
while they were baking, the dough was sort of melting, the top was round, and
the bottom was melted. It looked like the ice cream that fell off of an ice cream
cone. Luckily, it all evened out at the end. And they were chewy and delicious.
I’ve realized that cooking/baking has become a way for me to escape, and find
something to do. It’s really nice to make something that’s delicious and practi-
cal, and it’s always amazing to see the result of the creation at the end. Not only
that, but the smells give a sense of comfort all around. And I know personally,
from walking into the apartment building, the joy of smelling something
wonderful your neighbor is cooking, and feeling they are sharing something
with you.
