03 NEEDLE AND PALM WHIPPING
This is one of the most secure of the widely used whippings as it is actually sewn
onto the rope with a needle and palm. Begin as though making a Common
Whipping and, when sufficient turns have been put on, thread the twine through
the eye of a needle. Stitch through one strand of the rope and worm the twine
back down the lay of the rope over the whipping turns. Stitch through into the
next groove and worm upwards. Stitch through again and worm down. Repeat,
stitching and worming down until all have been doubled. Finish with several
stitches through the rope.
