 British Forces Cyprus

 Triple Crown Challenge

 By Staff Sergeant Natasha Campbell-Chambers
The 2018 British Forces Cyprus Triple Crown Challenge took place
on the 22 March 2018. A total of 9 teams of four persons in each
team made up of units in Cyprus participated at the event. The
competition consists of Military Skills and March and Shoot.

 Military Skills

To start the competition off we had a timed team relay on
stripping the weapon, putting back together, loading a
magazine and putting on a sling. The fastest team would
 be the winner.
 March and Shoot

The route for this year march was quite challenging and
cheeky with a timed distance of 8.2 miles carrying weight
of 15 kilos. Major Jamie Lawrence joined different teams

along the way for parts of the march competition. The
march was followed by a short snap shoot on a 25 metre
range with a Glock pistol with 10 rounds. The shoot proved
a bit challenging for some individuals.
 Observation

To finish off the competition after the shoot the teams had
to take part in an observation game. Teams had to stand
behind a mine tape area and 12 items were hidden in the

ground in front of them. They then had five minutes in
which to find all items before the clock was stopped.
