This Unfinished
Piece
A warrior with nothing to fear
The graceful stance of a princess Crocodiles impaled with spears Crimped hair perfumed with incense The tender heart recalled the souvenir Of the serpents coiled in the sea
The smile of the princess held dear As she set the royalty free
The noble’s path uncertain
The soldier’s triumph lone
Of the noble’s heavy burden
The soldier was unknown
Lost was the sentiment
Behind the princess’ cool gaze Yet withheld was the resentment In the soldier’s long days Forgotten is the tale
Of the princess and the soldier The chapters fading pale
No ending as they got older Yet the soldier stood firm Perhaps because she believed That the princess would return For this unfinished piece

Drenched by your languid ecstasy,
Are coalesced into an effervescent family,
As they dance to your resonating melody. Life on me blooms and blossoms
With the echoes of your fall.
Protect us in your chrysalis of paradise
As we list to the sounds of the rain’s calls.

The Toy Store
A box of blocks kept inside a store,
Everywhere there are toys galore!
Dolls, puzzles and bears,
Colouring books and crayons packed as pairs. “Oh my! Oh my! Mother! Look how fascinating these toys are!”
“Shall I get the dollhouse or the toy car?” “Calm down, calm down dear child,
Let’s go around and see what we can find.” she said and smiled.
As they looked around, the boy frozen in awe, They saw all the toys, from plastic swords to plastic claws!
The mother asked her son, “How about these lovely blocks, so big and so diverse?”
“Just the right amount of money is in my purse.” “The blocks are too boring! Too simple! Too plain!
“If I play with these bricks what will I gain?” “Oh mother, why can’t I have a bear or a car or a doll?”
“Or maybe a craft book or a ball?”
“Mother please try to look at things from my point of view,
Why would anyone want to play with something so dull even if it is brand new?”
“All we have to do is stack some blocks till they become tall,
And then all of a sudden the tower crumbles in one big fall!”
Why can’t we build something out of blocks in a different way?
So that blocks can be something fun for us to play.
If the blocks fall, then why can’t we just pick them up and stack again?
Just as in life, we may have to fail and start again.

Why Macbeth is my Favourite Shakespearean Character?

William Shakespeare is considered as one of the most renowned and celebrated English writers of all time. The greatest dramatist that ever walked the face of this earth. My favourite Shakespearean play is Macbeth and in my opinion the character sketch of the protagonist Macbeth is the best among the wonderful characters conceived by Shakespeare. Macbeth was a very loyal general of the King of Scotland-(Duncan), who fought bravely in the war and managed to gain the trust of the King. The prophecy of the three witches fuelled his greed and wife's ambition to take over the kingdom by assassinating Duncan. As though this was not enough, he continued with a couple of more murders while also feeling the large shadows of guilt overpowering his mental wellbeing and ultimately leading to his death.
During the entire story, Macbeth is seen to writhe in pain and grief in his heart for the sins he had committed, in spite of attaining all that he desired. This shows how well Shakespeare managed to portray the rigid dichotomy of
Macbeth’s extreme personalities
between ‘Evil & Good' and
‘Ambition & Guilt’ swaying between Macbeth ‘The Hero’ to Macbeth 'the Villain’ taking us on a roller coaster of moral transformation of Macbeth’s character. This truly reflects the writing prowess of Shakespeare - the genius.
The story of Macbeth has dominated people’s imaginations for centuries. It is still a popular Scottish belief that the mere mention of the name ‘Macbeth’ in the theatres brings misfortune. Even in modern times, half a dozen movies have been made in Hollywood as well as world cinema based on Macbeth.
Sirius Black in Harry Potter quotes - “We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on.” By taking inspiration from Macbeth’s character we may conclude that we are all manifestation of our choices. The choice between good and evil actions will determine future consequences.

RAIN- A Melody of Nature
As the majestic torch glistens
From its realm above in the clear skies, Pumped with arrogance and disdain
No heed he pays to our mournful cries. For he has no compassion;
Enveloping us in a scorching light.
I am already sore and barren;
Oh rain, shield us from this horrible plight. We await you with outstretched arms
To be engulfed in your soothing touch at last.
Our woes and pains you wash away, With the dark shadows on us, you cast.
A plethora of melancholic sponges Conceal the radiant torch’s pride.
My cracks and burns and bruises heal,
As on me, your first drop glides.
Our restless bodies and minds you pacify; With you on me, life begins anew.
My flowers sway with a vibrant glow;
My leaves moisten in your limitless dew. All creatures insignificant and huge
