Mother Teresa Day
around Mother Teresa once said, "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten we belong to
each other." In the spirit of this quote, the Donovan Catholic community celebrated "Mother
CAMPUS Teresa Day" on the International Day of Peace, Sept 21, 2016. All classes that day geared their
lessons to something related to Mother Teresa and/or the 17 Sustainable goals of the United
Nations' International Day of Peace.
The day began with the Griffin TV station showing a
brief video of Mother Teresa's life and contributions to
the world. Throughout the day, freshmen, sopho-
mores, juniors and seniors competed in charitable
activities to win a free dress down day. The beautiful
quad at Donovan was turned into a fair-like atmos-
phere where students ate lunch and took selfies
with Mother Teresa. They made paper cranes,
which were sent to the Children's Peace Monu-
ment in Hiroshima, Japan. They col-
lected over 1700 canned food items
for the St. Joseph parish
23 food pantry.
